respect to the Constitution and functions of that committee
(including any provisions with respect to the appointment of persons who are not members of the Council) those provisions
shall apply to the constitution and functions of the joint
committee with such modifications, if any, as the case may
require.
(2) Subject to the provisions of this section, the
number of members of a joint committee appointed under this
seation, the term of office of the members thereof, and the
area, if any, within which the joint committee is to exercise
its authority, shall be fixed by the appointing authorities. (3) The provisions of sub-section (4) of section 46 of
this Ordinance shall apply to a member of the Council who is
appointed a member of a joint committee under the provisions
of this section.
(4) Nothing in this section shall authorize the appointment
of a joint committee for any purpose for which the Council are authorized or required to concur in the appointment of a joint
committee by any other enactment for the time being in force.
52. (1) The expenses incurred by a joint committee
appointed under this Part of this Ordinance shall be defrayed by the Council and the Government or such other authority as aforesaid in such proportions as they may agree upon, or in case of disagreement as may be determined by the Governor.
(2) The accounts of a joint committee appointed under this Part of this Ordinance shall be kept in such manner, made up yearly to such date and audited in such manner as may be determined by the Governor.
53. The provisions of sections 39, 48 and 49 of this Ordinance shall apply to representatives of the Council on joint committee, whether appointed under this Ordinance or under any other enactment, subject to the following modification, namely that as respects members of any such joint committee |
